At the moment, I would say Firebug would be a good choice as of right now, Commando has the Bullpup, AK47, M4, SCAR and then the two variations of the FN FAL. Firebug has only three weapons technically, if you don't count the incendiary grenades unlocked at perk level 4. So the Thompson for the Firebug might be the best choice, but then again, that's only my opinion.

But as they say, one makes all the difference.

It could easily be made to work with both perks by using a damage-type swap like with the Mac-10 but it would require alot of precise coding and adjustments to most likely balance it, so besides that I'd say it would fit best with the Firebug since it lacks a proper weapon base

If it's used for firebug it might be a bit OP thompson's are supposed to have big magazines so you'd be burning a lot of clots it'd be fun though and commando has enough weapons so firebug

I vote for firebug, simply because I have yet to see any attention given to towards Firebug :P
besides, i think it would be cool to use the tommy gun

though one question.. is it going to be completely full auto? or will there be an ability to switch it between auto or semi-auto?

Firebug. Seeing as how the flamethrower has a large ammo pool already, and the husk cannon has no reloading I would say that a drum would fit the motif of large ammo pools with occasional reloads.
